Gary Hillery

Gary Hillery, a devoted family man and respected member of the Little Rock community, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Born on April 25, 1966, in West Helena, Arkansas, Gary lived a life marked by commitment, hard work, and kindness.

A graduate of Central High School in 1985, Gary built a career spanning various roles including Waste Management, the Little Rock Presidential Holiday Inn Airport, and the Highway Department. His dedication to his work was unwavering, and he took great pride in his professional journey. Gary’s proudest accomplishments were his children, through whom his legacy and values will surely continue.

Gary’s personal passions reflected a love for simple joys and companionship. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family and was known for his love of baseball, passionately supporting the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Yankees. Known among friends and family for his generosity and willingness to help anyone in need, Gary was a great friend who could always be relied upon. His fondness for mountain dew and Kit Kats was a small but beloved detail of his personality that brought lighthearted moments to those around him.

He is survived by his children, Gary Hillery Jr., Alexander Hillery, and Morgan Hillery, who were the center of his world. Gary also leaves behind his siblings Linnie Sims, Lois Dorsey, John Hillery (and Regina), and Dianna Hillery (Robert). His best friend, Temica Hillery, was a constant source of support and companionship throughout his life.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, St. Clair and Algie Hillery, and his siblings Eddie Smith, Claire Hillery, Leon Hillery Sr., and Iola Watson. Though they have passed, their memory and influence remain a cherished part of the family’s story.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Gary’s life will be held on December 13, 2025, at the Lewis Street Church of Christ, located at 2716 Lewis St, Little Rock, Arkansas 72204. The service will begin at 10:00 a.m. and conclude at 11:00 a.m.

Gary Hillery’s presence was a blessing to those who knew him, and his legacy of kindness, hardworking spirit, and love for his family will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to share in his life. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
