Rev. Marcus W. McDonald passed away at home on September 3, 2026, surrounded by family. He was born on March 20, 1957, and his passing leaves a deep sorrow in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Marcus will be remembered most dearly as a devoted husband, beloved father, cherished son, and treasured brother. He shared 42 years of marriage with his wife, Renee McDonald, a lasting bond that stood as a testament to love, commitment, and family. In that love, they built a family that became one of the great blessings of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Renee McDonald; his mother, Othellas McDonald of Magnolia, Arkansas; his son, Reginald McDonald of Farmersville, Texas; his daughters, Queria Nunnley and her husband, Brandon, of Cordova, Tennessee, and Quersten Green and her husband, Christopher, of Olive Branch, Mississippi, 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He is also survived by his brothers, Earl Dean McDonald and Donny Hugh McDonald, both of Magnolia, Arkansas, and by his sister, Sharon Gatson (Cleodis) of Little Rock, Arkansas. Each of them carries forward the memory of his presence, his love, and the place he held in their lives.
Marcus was preceded in death by his son Antonio McDonald and father Donald McDonald, and he leaves behind a family circle bound together by the years they shared with him and the love that remains. His memory will continue to live on in quiet moments, in family gatherings, and in the enduring connections he helped shape through his life.
A viewing will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at American Family Funeral Home & Cremations, 1527 E Broadway St, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72114. As family and friends gather to honor Rev. Marcus W. McDonald, they will remember a man whose life was rooted in faith and family and whose love will not be forgotten. May his memory bring comfort to those who mourn him and peace to all who celebrate his life.
