Shanneza Lawanda Thompson, a devoted caregiver and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2026, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Born on March 21, 1981, in Little Rock, she lived a life defined by dedication, honesty, and an unwavering commitment to those she loved and served.
Shanneza was a shining star to all who knew her—always showing up for everyone with honest advice and a compassionate heart. Her career was marked by service at MedLine and the Arkansas Veterans Home, where she provided comfort and care to countless individuals, demonstrating her deep sense of duty and kindness. Shanneza's commitment extended beyond her professional life, as she took tremendous pride in giving birth to her miracle daughter, Demetria Butler, affectionately known as MEME, who was one of her proudest accomplishments.
Her educational journey began with her graduation from JA Fair in 1999, followed by earning an Associate in Science from Pulaski Technical College, where she also received her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification. This achievement laid the foundation for her dedicated career in healthcare and caregiving.
Shanneza was born into a loving family and is survived by her father, Marques Thompson Sr., and stepfather, Gregory Greene Sr. She is deeply loved by her daughter, Demetria Butler, and is remembered fondly by her siblings Aaron Parker, Jasmine Greene, Gregory Greene, Britteny Thompson, Marques Thompson Jr., and Joe Roberson. Her circle of love extended to her special friend, Demetrus Butler; special sister, Tamara Davis; and special cousin, Kenisha Riggins-Lee, all of whom treasure her memory and the times they shared.
The family also mourns the loss of Shanneza’s mother, Sharon Parker-Greene; grandmother, Izola Parker; grandfather, David Parker; uncles Kenny Ray Washington and Ronald Washington; and her niece, Jamiah Greene. Their memories live on in the hearts of many, forever cherished and honored.
A funeral service to celebrate Shanneza Lawanda Thompson’s life will be held on May 9, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at 2015 Main Street, North Little Rock, Arkansas. Friends, family, and all who were touched by Shanneza’s kindness and spirit are invited to join in paying their respects and sharing memories of her remarkable life.
Shanneza's legacy is one of heartfelt service, unwavering compassion, and a fierce love for her family. She remains a beacon of light who touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who had the honor to know her.
